The Life Cycle of a Cat

Meow! Meow!
When cats are born they are called kittens. They are born blind, deaf, and toothless.Their bodies are about 4 inches long and have a thin layer of fur.
The kittens like to rest for the first few days of life. They curl up and enjoy drinking milk from their Mama, sleeping, and staying warm from their Mama’s touch.
Kittens can soon smell, hear, and taste. Then, they eat and sleep some more. Their eyes open anywhere from eight days to two weeks after being born. Their eyes are very sensitive to light when they first open them.
When the cats are about a month old they grow their baby teeth. They will lose these teeth and get a new set when they are between 5 and 7 months old.
Cats are expected to live about 12 years. Sometimes they can live longer than that. They are very lovable and cuddly! (most of them, anyway!)
